Characteristics of Industrial Relations and Labor Literature In The Scope of Web of Science

Abstract

Industrial Relations and Labor is a comprehensive research field where the dynamics and drivers related to the working life are determined and the related working conditions and the relations between the parties are regulated. In order to reveal the status of the current literature in this field, this paper presents particular findings obtained from the research articles within Industrial Relations and Labor category of Web of Science via the methodologies of scientometrics and bibliometrics. These methodologies combine metrics, statistics, and text and network analytics to visualize the characteristics of the literature. In this scope, this paper investigates the networks regarding journals, authors, citations, and keyword distributions; and extracted the potential topics in the field as well as the descriptive statistics and metrics to reveal the trends Web of Science over a large-scale dataset. In a professional manner, relevant findings of the study do not only highlight the dynamics and characteristics with a holistic view but also reflect the insights and inspirations to prospective studies.
