Abstract

METEB is a system which entitles the students who graduate from Vocational high schools to get a place at the universities without an examination exam. In this study, the performances achieved by those students in the courses they follow in the under-graduate programmes are analyzed emprically. This study has been applied to the students at Muğla University Muğla Vocational College; the performance of METEB students who enrolled for 2002-2003 academic year and the performance of METEB students who got a place at university through an examination exam for 2001-2002 academic year have been studied comparatively. The performances of 872 students for the same courses have been analyzed using t test. As a result, it is found that METEB students have had a lower performance level.

Özet
Bu çalışmada, sınavsız geçiş sistemi; kısa adıyla METEB olarak adlandırılan proje kapsamında 2 yıllık meslek yüksekokullarına giriş yapan meslek lisesi çıkışlı öğrencilerin ön lisans programlarında gördükleri derslerde elde ettikleri başarıların istatistiki analizi yapılmaktadır. Muğla Üniversitesi bünyesinde bulunan Muğla Meslek Yüksekokuluna 2002-2003 öğretim yılında kayıt yaptırmış METEB öğrencilerinin bazı derslerdeki başarı durumları ile 2001-2002 öğretim yılında kayıt yaptırmış, sınavla giriş yapan toplam 872 öğrencinin aynı derslerdeki başarıları t testi kullanılarak birbiriyle karşılaştırılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre METEB sistemi öğrencilerinin diğer öğrencilere göre daha başarısız olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
